Mixwell to stand in for North at DreamHack Valencia 2018 | News
Earlier this evening North announced that the organisation’s coach, Alexander “ave” Holdt, decided to make adjustments in the CS:GO starting roster going into DreamHack Valencia 2018. The team will employ the services of former G2 Esports trial player, Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas, for the duration of DreamHack Valencia 2018. As explained in the announcement, this move aims to explore the potential of having an international line-up, as opposed to an exclusively Danish quintet, which the team has employed since conception back in 2017,
Jonas “whimp” Svendsen, Director of Esports at North, explained that the adjustment will allow himself and ave to test a new team structure:
Óscar is an experienced and skilled player, and I am happy that he will be playing with us in Valencia. The trend in rosters is moving towards a more International outlook, and in our current situation, Alexander and I felt that the last event before the player break, would be a good time to change up the dynamics and see how the players react to a new structure”.
We have an important autumn coming up, with a lot of big tournaments, including the Major, and with the lack of consistency that we have been showing we can’t leave any stones unturned. I want to see how the team fares in a different setting and to break up the current dynamics.
For the duration of DreamHack Valencia 2018, North will host the following line-up:
— Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen (C)
— Philip “aizy” Aistrup
— Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså
— Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
— Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas ▲
— Daniel “mertz” Mertz ▼
DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 will take place at the Feria Valencia in Valencia, Spain on Jul. 12-14. Eight teams from across the globe will journey to the beautiful coastal city in a bid to cop their fair share of a $100,000 prize pool.
